Q1 2016 Wrap Up

Outside of our trip to California and Easter, We had a pretty eventful first three months of the year!  Honestly, it was a bit more eventful than I prefer, and a difficult time.  Much of the year so far has been shadowed by death and I'm ready for the light of the Sun!  Nonetheless, we still managed to squeeze in some fun.  Here's the random proof.

We've enjoyed the warmer days we've had off and on in March.  Unfortunately,
they are usually sandwiched between two awful days.  Welcome to Utah!

We had an impromptu mini-reunion with some of the Bliss family.

Sadly, a good friend, one of three this year so far, lost his life at way
too young of an age.  His passing haunts me regularly.  RIP, Tall-man.

Soccer started again.  Leah was excited to sport her new kicks.

Leah scored her first goal for the Red Tornadoes.  I don't know if I have ever seen
her more excited ever.

Leah prepared and presented her animal presentation on the Snow Leopard.
She did excellent and can tell you anything you want to know about snow leopards.

Dax is our cuddly and loving little boy.  He tries to put off a tough guy image with his folded
arms, angry look and scorpion tattoo, but we all know he's a cuddle monster.

Chief Akela was raised from the dead.

Doc McLeah expanded her practice to add animals to her list of toy patients.

Dax is as cute as he has ever been.  He's also as devious.

We watched this young man, Cole, receive his Eagle.  WTG, Cole!

Leah continues to grow and impress in every aspect of life; spiritually,
physically, emotionally, mentally, athletically, musically and more.

Leah enjoys Dax's willing participation when it comes to hair and make up.  She better get
it all in now because I'm sure at some point he'll deny those privileges.

The kids have become addicted to the I-pad.  It is a disturbing trend, but I think
we have a pretty good handle on it now.

Earth Day at the Children's Discovery Museum

Leah is becoming quite the responsible and loving big Sister.  Sometimes she can be a great
help to Mom and Dad.

Dax loves visiting the Dinosaur Museum regularly.  Season passes are nice.  I know that's
not a Dinosaur, but that is where this was taken.

Mom began her career as a motivational speaker.  People are captivated when
she speaks.  She lives to love.

Leah wrote a book on Earth Day to be sent in to "Curiosity Quest - Going Green:,
where an old neighbor is the host.

In addition to becoming an old fart, my brother received commendations for a
job well done.

Leah was the flower girl for our neighbor's wedding.  Dax was the ring bearer.

Some good friends stopped by.  Part of the old gang...everybody but Timoteo.

My favorite companion of my mission in British Columbia passed away after
a very long fight with cancer.  He's a good man and he is missed.  RIP, May.

Leah and Dax took advantage of the turn in weather to pretty up the sidewalks.

Sarah, Molly, Erin and Marie.  All Arteests!

Sarah took a painting class with her Sister, Sister-in-law and Brother's Girlfriend.

We went to the Provo Temple Open House.
I am far from perfect, but I do try to build my family with Christ at our center.

After visiting the Provo Temple, we walked to Gloria's Little Italy for some gelato and dessert.

As I'm sure is noticeable in all the prior pics, Leah is losing teeth left and right!

As if Disneyland wasn't enough, we took the kids to see Disney's "Frozen on Ice".
It was hard to get too many pictures being how far away we were.  Totally enjoyable though.

Somewhere in there I squeezed in a big bowl of ice cream.

Dax became potty trained.  After two solid days (48 hours) with no accidents he got to pick
a treat of his choice.  His answer, "A Green Pupcake!"

Our neighbors heart attacked the inside of our house while we were gone.

Sarah and the kids took advantage of our annual Pass of All Passes.

Leah is getting better at reading and beginning to love it.

We got to babysit our niece, Reagan.

We took in a fight, but a hockey game broke out.  Go Grizz!

Leah and Jake, BFFs and Cousins forever.

We had dinner with Caitlin and her fiancé, Zack, after the hockey game.  It's
always good for us to see her.  We love her dearly.

#HAPPY

I would love it if Dax drove a VW bus.

Marley hid from the kids.

The kids enjoyed swimming in warmer weather.

Mike, Tim and I.  Tim joined us via facetime.

Some long lost friends, Don and Cindy stopped by for dinner and a nice visit
over conference weekend.

Sarah remained super cute all through Jan, Feb and March!

Scott made it in the local newspaper of our hometown.

Flower Girl and Ring Bearer

We watched these two tie the knot.

It was fun taking a day off work (long over due) to spend the day with Sarah. We enjoyed a
long drive, nice wedding ceremony, good dinner and long drive again.  I'm the most blessed.

Leah and I at the Children's Discovery Museum.

Again, with the tooth thing.

Sarah, Leah and Dax made an awesome video for my birthday.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the year.  So far April was good and May seems better.  I'm hoping for some relief in the "friends dying" department though.  Life is too grand to not take advantage of it while you can.  Thanks Quarter 1.  It's been fun!
