Sheesh! With Spring arriving, I'd better get on the ball and finish blogging about last Summer before this Summer is here! This post will chronicle the days upon Days of Fun the cousins had in the Summer of 2017. Sarah and Molly do a fantastic job of keeping the kids entertained and making them feel special.
Fun With Cousins
The Summer of Fun began with a scavenger hunt of sorts and then they all made their Summer tees.
They did all sorts of fun things this Summer, Trafalga, 7 Peaks Water Park, Hiking, Biking, Dinosaur Museum, Park, Swimming, Lagoon, Hill AFB Planes Museum, water games, picnics and more! They even made a full length major motion picture about a circus, called "Greatest Showman". Well, okay, it was the "Greatest Showman", but it was about a circus.

| Reagan and Grandma Tine even joined in for some of the fun! |
And then Summer faded away into Fall.... :(
So, the way their individual Days of Fun work is this. They each get one day. Sarah schedules 4 days, one each for Elijah, Cole, Jacob and Emerson, for them to spend the day with us and Molly schedules a day for Leah and a day for Dax to spend with them. The person whose "Day of Fun" it is, gets to determine what is done for the day. They choose their breakfast, lunch and dinner and the activities. While they all vary slightly, they typically involve eating out (sometimes multiple times), lots of snacks, water games, X-Box and something using their Pass of All Passes. They have fun. We are sometimes good at getting pics and other times, not so good at it.
Elijah's Day of Fun
| Elijah chose to make pizzas for one of his meals. |
| He also chose to see Spider-Man at a late movie. |
| Games were played.... |
| Go carts were raced.... |
| Bad guys were shot... |
| And water battles ensued. |
| None of these kids can do anything without some form of electronics in the day. |
Cole's Day of Fun
Jake's Day of Fun
| Games were played (CLUE)... |
| Virtual animals were hunted... |
| Swishes were made... |
| Rapids were braved... |
| And huge inflatable obstacles were conquered... |
Leah's Day of Fun
Of course, Leah spent her day of fun with Molly and the boys so she may have some pictures, but we don't. I do know she had fun and she made things, such as this hat of mine below.
| How nice is that?! It is now my lawn mowing hat. |
Emerson's Day of Fun
| Walls were climbed...(both figuratively and literally) |
| Heads were doused... |
| Slides were slid upon... |
| Hills were climbed without the aid of a caddy... |
| Masterpieces were created... |
| Velociraptors were evaded... |
| Games were played... |
| And surely lots of food was eaten! |
Dax's Day of Fun
As with Leah, we don't have pics of his Day of Fun, but we know he came home with a smile on his face and easily fell asleep at bedtime.
Can't Forget Baby RayRay
Baby Reagan hasn't had her "Day of Fun" yet, but we did get to have her hang
with us for a day or two in the Summer. Leah loves it when she does. |
Grace's Two Weeks of Fall Fun
So, the whole "Day of Fun" thing began when we would bring Hailey and Madyson up from California to our house for a week or two and Sarah dubbed it, "Hailey and Mady's Summer of Fun". In fairness, it just seemed right that we should do a day of fun for each of the boys as well, even though they lived nearby. Grace is old enough that she is about to begin participating in "Grace's Summer of Fun". Lucky for us, her parents needed a solution to Grace being off track at a time when the rest of them had work and school, so we got her for a couple weeks! :) Hopefully she had a blast. I know we enjoyed having her with us.
She got a celebrity's welcome at the airport when she arrived. Her Mother flew to SLC with her and then immediately flew home after handing her off to us. Sarah, Grandma Leslie, Madyson, Leah and Dax had made signs to welcome her and gave her a grand arrival.
Grace, Times were so "Sour" without you. We hope you have a few "Snickers"
and a "Jolly" good time! You are a "Joy"! |
| Dax and Leah are always happy to see their cousins from another state. |
What does every visitor from the coast want to do when it comes time to visit a landlocked state that is two states away from the nearest ocean? Visit the aquarium, of course!
It wasn't all fun and games for her. At least I bet that's what she thought when
we took her to church with us. |
| They saw a couple movies. |
| Did some painting... |
| Hung out with Family...(Hailey was in town for a couple days too) |
| Leah loves her cousin, Grace. Or as I call her, "Gracey Grace". |
| We went to watch the Grizzlies play hockey... |
| Went Roller Skating... |
| Got some strikes... |
| Ate some pizza... |
| Got some more strikes... |
| Dreamt of more pizza... |
| Played some video games... |
| Isn't Grace's Aunt a hottie? |
| A family that bowls together, stays together! |
We had a fun time. We always do with our Nieces and Nephews...even as they get too old and too cool for us old people. We have been blessed with the greatest! Thank you, Hailey, Mady, Elijah, Cole, Jake, Grace, Emerson, Jane and Lucas! You all rock!
